Tara Carter
Consultant
Tara believes in tailored approaches to college admissions that help students achieve success in a way that is uniquely their own, and also in the importance of a stand-out supplemental essay.
Tara graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Economics which led her to her first career supporting antitrust litigation. Later, she earned a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown and a Master of Business Administration from Johns Hopkins that launched a career in tax policy. Tara also worked in public affairs, where she learned the power of the written word and a good copy edit.
Research and data analytics connect all of Tara's past professional experiences, and she applies the same approach to admissions counseling. She holds a Certificate in College Counseling from UC San Diego.
Tara and her husband live in the Washington, D.C. area with their two children and English bulldogs. Tara, a native New Yorker, returns home to the city that she loves every chance she gets, which now comes with the bonus of visiting her oldest at Barnard College, Columbia University.
In addition to Washington D.C. and New York, Tara also lived in Valencia, Spain when she was a high school student at the Madeira School. She has traveled to all seven continents, except Antartica, a place she hopes to visit soon.
